Sindbad Group recently delivered a technical awareness workshop titled "Introduction to the Maritime Industry, Regulation, and Classification" at the Military Technology College (MTC), as part of its ongoing commitment to industry knowledge-sharing and talent development.
The session was led by Imran Al Nassri, Marine Fleet Technical Manager at Sindbad Group, and aimed to introduce students to the maritime sector and its real-world operational applications.
The presentation covered key international maritime conventions, the strategic role of classification societies, major commercial vessel types, and fundamental chartering principles—providing participants with a solid regulatory and operational foundation.
In addition, students were introduced to modern vessel monitoring and tracking systems, inspection and survey workflows, and regulatory compliance frameworks, helping bridge the gap between academic theory and practical maritime operations.
The workshop was further enriched by the presenter's dual background, combining sea-going experience on LNG vessels with shore-based technical management of dry cargo fleets. This perspective offered students a comprehensive view of contemporary maritime operations and potential career pathways within the industry.
